Nervous System & Mindset Training by Chloé Machin
We often hear that mindset is everything. That if we can just think positively, shift our beliefs, and focus on gratitude, things will change. And while mindset work is incredibly powerful, it’s only part of the picture.
The truth is, you can’t change your thoughts if your body doesn’t feel safe.
You can’t reframe your beliefs or stay grounded in difficult moments if your nervous system is stuck in survival mode.
This is why nervous system regulation is the foundation of any mindset work that actually lasts.

For the past many months, I’ve been exploring the connection between mindset and the body in my own daily rituals and with the clients I see in the studio.
Because the more I work with my clients to release tension, slow down, and reconnect with themselves, the more I see how deeply mindset is affected by the state of the nervous system.
When the nervous system is dysregulated—whether due to chronic stress, past trauma, emotional overload, or burnout—it’s not just the body that responds. The mind does too.
We begin to think in loops. We feel stuck in patterns of self-doubt, overwhelm, and fear. The most basic decisions feel hard, and no amount of journaling, visualising, or affirmations can truly land, because the body isn’t ready to receive them.
But when the nervous system is regulated, the entire internal environment changes.
The body feels calm. The breath deepens. Our thoughts become clearer. We feel more grounded in ourselves and less reactive to what’s happening around us.
From this place, mindset shifts don’t just happen—they integrate.
The work I do in studio is centred around creating that state of regulation.

My Signature Treatment might look like a facial massage on the surface, but it’s designed to work much deeper.
We begin with grounding and intentional breathwork to invite safety into the body. From there, I use a combination of lymphatic drainage, buccal massage, fascia release, and slow intentional touch to calm the nervous system, reduce stored stress, and bring the body out of fight-or-flight.
The results are visible on the skin—but even more noticeable in how clients feel afterwards. Lighter. Clearer. Less tense. More themselves.
This kind of nervous system work isn’t just about relaxation. It’s about creating the conditions for growth. Because mindset doesn’t shift in urgency—it shifts in presence.
A regulated nervous system allows you to hold more—more emotion, more responsibility, more clarity—without shutting down. It helps you navigate hard conversations, show up in your relationships, speak honestly, set boundaries, and trust your intuition.
In many ways, nervous system care is the most foundational mindset training there is.
If you’re doing the inner work—therapy, coaching, self-development—and it still feels like something isn’t quite landing, your nervous system might be the missing piece.
It’s not a sign that anything’s wrong—it’s a sign that your body is doing exactly what it’s designed to do: protect you.
But when the body is always protecting, it can’t expand. It can’t receive. And that’s where we can start to soften.
This is an invitation to tune in. To notice the stories you’re telling yourself—and how your body responds to them.
To create space for stillness and regulation. To let the nervous system exhale. Because when the body feels safe, the mind becomes more flexible, and real growth becomes possible.
If this resonates, I’d love to support you. My treatments are designed to help you regulate, reconnect, and return to a sense of groundedness—so that mindset shifts become less about force, and more about flow.
We don’t need to push ourselves to feel better.
We need to support ourselves differently.
And that begins with the body.
